ABERDEEN FC LEGENDS AND MUSICIANS UNITE FOR NEW 1983 ANTHEM

Two Stars on Our Chest Studio

Two Stars on Our Chest, Gold Sponsored by Camm-Pro, celebrates Aberdeen’s European heroes and supports a campaign that has already raised more than £10,000 for good causes.

Aberdeen legends, musicians and supporters have come together to create a new anthem celebrating the club’s historic European triumphs of 1983.

Two Stars on Our Chest was written and arranged by David Sheret, songwriter and creator of Finn Moray, and features Aberdeen-born Terry McDermott, star of NBC’s The Voice, and his band, The Algiers.

The Finn Moray release is being Gold Sponsored by independent capital project management company Camm-Pro as part of a wider good-cause sponsorship relationship that will also support Muddy Bay and Foggie, Finn Moray’s forthcoming Shetland and Aberchirder songs.

The recording also includes contributions from Aberdeen heroes John Hewitt, Jim Leighton and Neil Simpson, alongside Paul Lawrie, Richard Gordon, club staff, supporters and the Finn Moray Red Army Chorus.

The initiative has already raised more than £10,000 this year for Aberdeen FC Community Trust and the Paul Lawrie Foundation through direct contributions from Finn Moray.

The anthem will be performed live at Pittodrie by Terry McDermott and The Algiers during half-time at Aberdeen’s opening Premiership match of the season against Hearts on Saturday 1 August 2026.

Terry and The Algiers will also perform a full set at a fundraising gig at OGV Podium in Aberdeen city centre later that evening, helping to continue the celebrations and raise further support for AFC Community Trust and the Paul Lawrie Foundation.

Supporters are now being invited to contribute £19.83, while businesses can become official campaign partners by contributing £1,983. Everyone contributing at supporter level will receive a free digital download of the song.

Peter Davidson said:

“This is a fitting celebration of one of the greatest achievements in Scottish football history.

“The two stars represent an extraordinary team and a period that still means so much to supporters.

“What makes this project even more special is that it is also supporting Aberdeen FC Community Trust and the Paul Lawrie Foundation.”

Simon McBain, Managing Director of Camm-Pro, said:

“We are delighted to be involved not only with Two Stars on Our Chest, but also with Muddy Bay and Foggie, Finn Moray’s forthcoming Shetland and Aberchirder songs.

“Camm-Pro already supports a number of charities through the business, and this good-cause sponsorship gives us another positive way to build on that commitment.

“By supporting these songs, we can help celebrate communities, create opportunities for artists and use the profile generated by the music to provide further support for good causes. That combination of music, community and positive social impact is something we are very pleased to be part of.”

The song began as a fully human-written and arranged composition.

David Sheret then worked with his friend and double Latin Grammy Award-winning producer Mariano Beyoglonian, using AI tools and digital audio workstations to create an early demo. The AI guide voice was subsequently replaced by Terry McDermott, while the generated instrumental parts were replaced by Innes, Justin and Brentt from The Algiers. Finally, it was produced, mixed and mastered by American double Grammy Award-winning producer Justin Armstrong.

The final version has been written, sung, played and produced by people, with six musicians and two producers contributing across the UK, United States and Argentina.

David Sheret said:

“Some people find the project difficult to understand at first, perhaps because the debate around AI has become so polarised. We’re open about embracing it as a positive creative tool, not to replace artists, but to help ideas take shape, uncover talent and create opportunities for people.

“We then replaced the demo AI voice with Terry and the digital instruments with The Algiers, namely Brentt, Innes and Justin.

“That is what Finn Moray is about. We use technology not to replace artists, but to find them, create opportunities, showcase their talent and help good causes.

“We are hugely grateful to Simon and everyone at Camm-Pro for supporting the song. Their involvement will help us take its message to a wider audience while raising greater awareness and support for the good causes at the heart of the campaign.

“The result is a fully human performance celebrating a remarkable Aberdeen team and supporting two organisations doing important work.

“To have Terry and The Algiers perform the song live at Pittodrie during the opening game of the season will be an incredibly special moment. The fundraising gig at OGV Podium that evening will then give supporters the opportunity to continue the celebration while helping us raise further funds for the Trust and Foundation.”

All funds raised through the official campaign site will support Aberdeen FC Community Trust and the Paul Lawrie Foundation.
