AFCCT launch Christmas Campaign to #SpreadTheCheer!

This year, Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT), are looking to ‘Spread the Cheer’ during the festive period.

AFCCT are aiming to raise awareness of the importance of community by sending out a message encouraging everyone to #SpreadTheCheer with the Trust this Christmas. The appeal will be shared throughout AFCCT social media, matchdays at Pittodrie and at events, with the aim of raising money to support the North-East community during the winter months. The Trust provide support and opportunity to change lives for the better all year round, but this message is especially important during Christmas, a time of year where people can face financial hardships and social isolation.

AFCCT will be involved in a number of local festive initiatives such as Mission Christmas with Cash For Kids, in addition to running their community programmes like the Pittodrie Community Hub that provides hot meals, food parcels and support to the community weekly.

Chief Executive, Liz Bowie, commented on the Trust’s Christmas efforts:

“Christmas is a special time of year, but for many in our community it can be a challenging time as they face many pressures including the cost of living and for some, loneliness. At Christmas, and throughout the year, the Trust aims to spread the cheer as widely as we can through a variety of programmes aimed at people of all ages and backgrounds.

Traditionally, Christmas is a time of giving and I would encourage everyone to think of others at this time of year and donate to the Trust. Together we can all make a difference to those most in need, so please help us Spread the Cheer!”
