Everyone has to start somewhere, get that foot in the door. That push becomes the most significant step to begin anything.  One such push was provided to me by Aberdeen FC and AFC Community Trust.

My journey started off as an internship which has borne a fruit of an inter-personal relation with the people here and the Club. I can only thank everyone in the club, with the respect, love and affection they have hosted me with.

There are things in every individual’s life which they always look back with the fondest of memories, Aberdeen will be such a memory for me, because as a budding professional in the football business industry, have learnt so much through my daily tasks.

One of the most imperative things I have learned is humility, the generosity shown by the club, to take a virtual nobody and giving them the chance to add value to the club is exceptional.

Every day, there was something to look forward to, people here were so welcoming it was in an instant that they became friends. I have also found so many mentors walking down the concourse of Pittodrie, who have only asked me to stay humble, be honest and be hungry for more.

It is one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life and to add the cherry on the cake, I am an honourable recipient of Aberdeen Football Club tie from Mr. Russell Anderson, AFC club legend.

It all boils down to the fact I was treated with so much respect, my opinions were respected and appreciated at the Club.

My classroom knowledge of football business was put to test on a canvas at this organisation. I have made amazing friends, found mentors and importantly a wholesome experience of how ethically football should be run, I could not have asked for more to take back.

In conclusion, I would only like to highlight that Aberdeen FC & the Community Trust are an organisation that is looking to be the best they can be and the way they go about it is phenomenal.

It’s funny that we always mention the big CSR campaigns of the football clubs around us but we hardly ever notice the life changing impacts that they have.

I have seen happy faces of young people just to be associated with the organisation and I am now happy being one of those who proudly states their association with the Club.

I wish for all the success to this organisation and I hope it keeps supporting and changing lives of the people for the better.

Come on you Reds!
