To celebrate all things Scottish, Aberdeen FC Community Trust are calling on the Red Army to don their tartan for the 2017 Kiltwalk!

This year’s event has been kicked off with the full support of Aberdeen FC’s Joe Lewis and Kenny McLean and it is hoped that 2017 will see the biggest support yet from Dons fans as they join AFCCT.

When asked about AFCCT’s involvement in this year’s event, Chief Executive Ally Prockter said: “Aberdeen FC Community Trust is delighted to be working closely with Kiltwalk to support this year’s event. At last year’s Aberdeen Kiltwalk, as well as having a fun and healthy day out, many walkers raised money on behalf of AFCCT to ultimately support children in the North East of Scotland. I encourage anyone who enjoys a walk and a bit of fun to join us on Sunday 4th June to raise money for local children.”

By taking part in the event on Sunday 4th June, 110% of the money will go to Aberdeen FC Community Trust as organisers behind the Kiltwalk have pledged to give an extra £10 for every £100 raised.

Furthermore, AFCCT and AFC are offering some opportunities for participants who take on the challenge: •    Everyone who registers to walk for AFCCT will be entered in to a prize draw to win a personalised AFC shirt signed by the 1st team •    Biggest registered group will win tickets to a match at Pittodrie and an activity on the pitch at half-time •    Individual/group that raises the most money will win tickets to a match at Pittodrie and an activity on the pitch at half-time

The Kiltwalks are a series of unique walking events in Scotland that act as a powerful fundraising mechanism, allowing people to generate big sums of money for their charities. The walks have been designed for everyone, offering a variety of walking distances for all ages and ability levels.

This year’s Aberdeen Kiltwalk route sets off at Duthie Park at 9am, before heading out of the city on to the scenic Deeside Way and ending at Potarch Green.

Walkers can choose between the Mighty Stride at 26 miles long, the Big Stroll which is 15.5 miles and the Wee Wander at 8 miles long.
