Over 30 people came along to our first Aberdeen FC Community Trust Open Day on Monday to find out what the Trust is all about.
Along with various partners and participants who are already involved in the Get Outdoors programmes we were delighted to see so many new faces and eager to get them involved.
With the help of our fantastic Saltire volunteers and AFCCT over65 volunteers, visitors enjoyed an afternoon of pickle ball, new age curling and Technogym as well as meeting the Community Trust team and finding out about other activities that are run throughout the year.
There were also visitors from Crosby House who came along to Pittodrie for the afternoon, Tracie Buchan, VSA Care Home Activities Co-ordinator said “We had a lovely time. The residents spoke about it all the way home and were delighted to meet Angus the Bull too!”
Dean McBain, Community Projects Officer for the Trust said “It’s great to see so many faces come through the door and get involved with the Trust. Here at AFCCT we aim to work with everyone across the North-East, of all ages and abilities. Inviting along our ‘Golden Dandies’ to find out about how to get involved with their local club is something we aim to continue to do. I would encourage everyone to have a look at the work being done by AFCCT as there is something for everyone".
Marion Douglas one of the programme participants and a volunteer for AFCCT thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon saying “It was great to see so many new people. The activities that the Trust do are amazing and I hope that more people can get involved and have some fun!”
