In the run up to the very first AFCCT Day on Saturday 11th March we look at how the Community Trust has made an impact on some individuals through the various programmes they run.
Since being established as a registered charity in 2014 AFC Community Trust's vision has been to provide support and opportunity to change lives for the better by using the high profile of Aberdeen FC and the enduring attraction of football and sport in general.
AFCCT now delivers a wide range of inclusive community initiatives across the North-East of Scotland and beyond in close partnership with various organisations, other charities and like-minded individuals.
Disability football is another area of growth with AFCCT providing participative programmes across a variety of physical and mental disability groups, as well as addressing social inclusion issues, this is an area that has provided benefit to the individuals themselves as well as AFCCT.
A shining example is this mutual benefit of a programme participant re-engaging with the work place by initially volunteering for AFCCT and he is now one of our valued members of sessional staff.
