Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) is delighted to join several football clubs and foundations across Europe in participating in the European Football Development Networks (EFDN) #MorethanFootball Campaign for 2024.

EFDN consists of various professional clubs, leagues and FAs who are committed to their communities and social responsibilities, and who have a passion of cooperating and engaging on the European level.

The #MoreThanfootball Action weeks is a global campaign for the European Community to showcase the impact of their community and social responsibility programmes, and activities demonstrating how their organisations are more than football.

The Campaign features a series of action days over the next few weeks such as International Day of Sport and Development, and Peace and Gender Equality Day. AFCCT will be participating in the action days to highlight the examples of our project delivery and the impact it has on our community.

As an EFDN member, AFCCT works hard to harness the existing support towards Aberdeen FC and utilises that positivity to empower communities and individuals within the northeast and nationally across Scotland.

A significant focus of the work done by AFCCT has been to increase the community engagement so it’s more than ‘just’ football, with all the programmes addressing mental wellbeing and physical wellbeing and tackling social isolation.
