Volunteers

Volunteers are at the heart of Aberdeen FC Community Trust, helping support our programmes and events. AFCCT strive to make our volunteers feel valued, trusted, and rewarded for their hard work. You can get involved in a range of activities, from working with young people to our active ageing programmes. Volunteering with AFCCT gives you the opportunity to work for an award-winning charity. Most notably, recognised by the UEFA Grassroots Awards as Best Professional Club in 2019 and the Queens Award for Voluntary Service.

FAQ's about Volunteering

• Our volunteers play a vital role in supporting activities being delivered in our local community. • Be part of a vibrant team that are making a difference to people’s lives. • Have access to a variety of training which will help provide a positive and valuable experience for our participants. • Gain experience and qualifications to add to your own CV.

• You will have the opportunity to be involved in activities that are held on a regular basis i.e. football coaching, active ageing programmes. • Events/fundraising activities. • Matchday team support – be involved in activities around the stadium to support the matchday experience for fans. • Saltire Awards – a programme that provides a way of recognising, rewarding, recording and celebrating volunteer hours for 12-25yr olds in Scotland.

• Everyone’s ‘hour’ donated is different, but just as valuable. • We send requests to our team of volunteers, these can be for any time of the week/end, day or evening and you commit to the ones that are suitable for you. • Team meetings are held on a 6-week basis, you will be required to attend as many of these as possible. These are fun and provide you with knowledge and understanding of AFCCT and the programmes that we are delivering.

• Not for most requests but there may be occasions where a particular skill/experience is required for the volunteer support i.e. experience of working with people who have additional support needs. • The most important requirements are enthusiasm and reliability. • You may be required to complete a PVG pending the activity you will be involved with.

• You have to be at least 16 years old to apply for a volunteer post but we have the option of our Youth Ambassador programme which is available for anyone between 14-24yrs old.
