Congratulations to Dionne Noble, from Fraserburgh Link Up Girls Youth Football Club for receiving the Tendeka Girls Game Award for May 2023!

Dionne Noble was presented with her trophy at Cormack Park by Aberdeen FC Women’s first team player, Jess Broadrick.

Dionne received the Tendeka Girls Game Award for being an incredible coach for the Girls League 4v4 and 5v5 teams. She is a committed, hardworking coach who has shown a great level of enthusiasm and fundraising efforts within the Fraserburgh Linkup Girls Youth Football Club.

Fraserburgh Linkup said, “Dionne started within our club to help with admin but assisted with training when coach numbers were low (work commitments) and has since not missed a session, even helping to coach the other groups of girls. She has never missed a festival!

“Dionne spear-headed fund raising for equipment by going door-to-door around local companies raising over £1,000 for the club.

“Helping to get the girls football team off the ground and rally the support of the local community to get involved during fundraising activities for the team, Dionne puts her all in to training and games to help steward the girls so that training and festivals are fun.”

Commenting on her achievement, Dionne added, “I am so proud of all our girls; it’s been a pleasure to see them grow and how far they have come in such a short time. Starting off I just wanted to be behind the scenes do some admin and maybe fundraise a little bit. But as the club has grown the demand for more volunteer coaches was high so I took the plunge and jumped in, and I couldn’t be happier I did!

“It’s so rewarding seeing the girls have fun and enjoy their football, and worth all the training, travel, and fundraising I have been able to do. I also want to thank all the other volunteers and coaches along the way for also volunteering their own time and helping me gain confidence to be a coach. It’s been a privilege to be part of an amazing team and help in any way I can.

“I feel so grateful to receive this award and look forward to the future of Fraserburgh Link up Girls.”

Congratulations to Dionne and her impact on her club and girls’ game from all at Aberdeen FC Community Trust.
